In the last 5 to 10 years there have been some dramatic and exciting changes in our industry.

Almost 95% of our clients have an e-mail address and perhaps as much as 70% have a broadband connection. This allows a fast and efficient exchange of data enabling us to avoid the delays of the postal service and meet deadlines rapidly.

H M Revenue and Customs and Companies House have introduced online functionality that allows us to submit documents and receive data. They have built a portal from which we can extract data, allowing us to see 24/7 which information has been processed.

Our clients can receive the accounts, tax returns, computations and reports in pdf or a Microsoft office format and store them on their own computers.

We enjoy meeting our clients and indeed the initial meeting is very important for confirming that we can deliver the services that they need and setting up the relevant deadlines. We do however, have clients that have moved to other areas in the world. The internet allows us to keep in contact and ensure their tax affairs are kept up to date.

Indeed our new project of online digital signatures will lead to a way of working in which we can see that we would not need a postman or any exchange of paper.

This has allowed us to embrace the concept of the paperless office. Rather than have your information in files and folders in filing cabinets we can access all your data by drilling down on the computer.
